Superintendent Don Iglesias, congratulates Almaden Elementary School teacher, Wendy Greenfield, and her sister Julie on the release of the film, Viva La Causa, which celebrates the work of Cesar Chavez. Wendy was a passionate & untiring activist working alongside Cesar Chavez. 

Students from SJUSD middle and high schools meet monthly as the Intra-district Leadership Council (ILC) to share activities and discuss common interests.

27 Pioneer High School students received Presidential Volunteer Service Awards for collectively performing 4,145 hours of service in 12 months.

The San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce presented Lauren Visico, senior at Pioneer High School, the Student of the Year Excellence in Education Award at the Annual Legends and Leaders Event.  Lauren’s peers in the San Jose Leadership Academy chose her as Student of the Year!

Richard Valdez  was recognized by the Board of Education for being the Santa Clara County nominee for 2009
California Employee of the Year in the Maintenance and Operations category.
