Welcome to the Bret Harte Library

Books are checked out to Bret Harte students when they present their Bret Harte ID card. Students may check out two books to their name. Students may not check out a book if they have an overdue library book. Food, candy, chewing gum, snacks of any kind, beverages (including water) are not permitted in the library. Students must have their student ID card and AR log when taking an AR test in the library.

Overdue book notices are distributed to language arts teachers on Tuesdays. If you receive an overdue notice please return the book to the library the following day. If you have lost a book you must replace it, so please come to the library and I will give you the author’s name, title, publisher and other information so you can purchase the exact book and return it to the library. Please remember the library is a place to study, read and/or do school related work - It is an area that should be relatively quiet to respect other students using the library.  The computers located in the library are to be used for schoolwork only. When you come to the library during class time, without a teacher, please have a pass signed by your teacher. Remember to sign in when you arrive and sign out when you leave. The Bret Harte Library is staffed by friendly, caring and knowledgeable adult volunteers and student assistants.
