Welcome to Empire Gardens Elementary School! All of us at Empire Gardens want to make this a successful year for your child. You can be sure that our best professional efforts will ensure the academic success for your child in a college-going culture that prepares them for the 21st century workforce.
We are proud of our staff and students and invite you to be involved in Empire Garden School. You are welcome to visit our classrooms, school office, cafeteria, library, media center and playground. There is a Peace Builder spirit and positive energy that flows throughout our safe campus.
We keep children first in all that we do and take the business of loving and teaching children seriously. Our API this year increased 56 points showing great academic performance improvements from our 2008 growth target. The goal of our school is to provide each student with a challenging and rigorous curriculum taught by highly qualified caring teachers, using research-based instructional practices. We believe every child can acquire the skills and strategies to become lifelong learners.
As your principal, I ask for your support, ideas, suggestions and involvement. I encourage you to join our team, our school family. I pledge to do my best to ensure that each child is challenged, nurtured and provided with a safe and stimulating learning experience.
On most days I open the day with our school pledge and flag salute during our morning assembly in the yard at 7:50 am. I am out visiting classrooms, on the playground or in the cafeteria. If you ever need to speak with me, please don’t hesitate. I will make time to respond to your needs. I see close communications as an opportunity to better serve our students. When we work together we improve the education for children.
