Welcome Letter

Aug. 17, 2016

Dear Parents/Families,

Your child is beginning an exciting year of learning. This will be an important year in your child’s education. It is the year that culminates the elementary years and prepares the student for middle school. In addition to acquiring new academic skills, your child will be required to develop and practice organizational skills to ensure academic success. I believe that your child’s success depends upon a good partnership between school and home. I look forward to developing such a partnership with you.

As a first step in helping me better understand your child’s needs, please fill out and sign the ‘Getting to Know Your Child!’ form. Please take a moment to fill out the contact and the volunteer information forms. These forms are being sent with your children on the first day of school. Please return the forms by Wednesday, Aug. 24th, 2016.

If you have not already purchased the supplies, please see the school supplies list (available on the school website). In addition to the grade level supplies list, I request that you get them a small stapler (they will be using it daily to staple and turn in class work). To help your student stay organized, I would recommend a binder along with plastic dividers with pocket organizers and a pencil pocket. Please have your child bring in the supplies no later than Wednesday, Aug. 24th, 2016.

I will be sending all the information regarding class activities, your child’s progress etc. via e-mail. If you do not have access to e-mail, please let me know and I will be glad to send hard copies with your child. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at 408-535-6317 or e-mail me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Once again, welcome back to the school year. Let us work together to make it a wonderful and successful year for your child.
