Graystone Elementary > 5th Grade - Gallo, Tina
Welcome to fifth grade! I am thrilled to be joining the Graystone community this year. This year is going to be an exciting year with many fun and challenging activities for your fifth graders. Our classroom will be a fun and exciting place of learning! My door is always open for questions and for those who need additional help.
I have taught at many different schools in the San Jose Unified School District, including a bilingual first grade class at Willow Glen Elementary and fifth grade at Booksin Elementary. I have also been a GATE and CELDT tester for the district. On top of that I have taught English as a Second Language to adults and public speaking/stand up comedy to high school students at a summer program at Presentation High School. I am a bay area native; born and raised in Sunnyvale but now I live in the Willow Glen area of San Jose with my husband of almost 4 years (Stephen) and our daughter…I mean our dog Allie! Well she is just like having a kid so we just call her our daughter!
I have an undergraduate Bachelors Degrees from San Jose State University in Journalism, with a minor in Spanish. I received my Masters Degree in Education in 2010, along with my multi-subject teaching credential, from National University. I have worked as a reporter, editor, server, web designer, conference coordinator, marketing writer, public relations assistant, marketing communications manager, manager of a comedy club, and a performer. So I bring lots and lots of real world experience to our students and use it to reinforce my teachings.
When I am not teaching or grading papers, I can be found listening to Duran Duran, watching the San Jose Sharks (I am a HUGE fan), spending time with my family and friends, and making people laugh! I am looking forward to working with you and your students to help provide a supportive learning experience! Here we go!
