Welcome to 4th grade! I am looking forward to collaborating with you to facilitate the development of your child’s academic and social skills in the 2018-19 school year.
After several years of volunteering as a parent and working as a substitute teacher, I signed up for the Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at San Jose State University. Soon thereafter, I completed my Masters in Education with a major in Curriculum and Instruction. This will be my eighth-year teaching at Graystone! I started as a long-term reading intervention substitute and subsequently taught 4th grade and 4/5 combo.
Effective communication between family and school is critical in providing students with a safe and engaging learning environment. Please contact me with any questions or concerns regarding your child’s education or participation at school. Every Friday, you will receive a newsletter from me via email. The newsletter will focus on academic skills and any other relevant reminders for school events.
Please note that Back to School Night is at 5:30 pm on 28 August 2018. Attending BTSN will help you familiarize yourself with Common Core Standards, assessments, adopted curriculum resources, classroom procedures, and my philosophy of education.
