Welcome to 4th grade! I am looking forward to collaborating with you to facilitate the development of your child’s academic and social skills in the 2017-18 school year.
After several years of volunteering as a parent and working as a substitute teacher, I decided to pursue a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at San Jose State University. Soon thereafter, I completed my Masters in Education with a major in Curriculum and Instruction. This will be my seventh-year teaching at Graystone! I started as the long-term reading intervention substitute, followed by two years as a straight 4th grade teacher, and 3 years as a 4/5 combo teacher.
Effective communication between family and school is critical in providing students with a safe and engaging learning environment. Please contact me with any questions or concerns regarding your child’s education or participation at school. Every Friday, you will receive a newsletter from me via email. The newsletter will focus on academic skills and any other relevant reminders for school events.
Please mark your calendars - Back to School Night is on 29 August 2017. My presentation will familiarize you with Common Core Standards, assessments, adopted curriculum resources, classroom procedures, and my philosophy of education.
