Solar Panel on a Pole

A small solar array on a pole helps teach Hacienda students how solar energy can become a source of clean, renewable electricity. Hacienda won a competitive PG&E grant that provided the solar panel along with funds to teach about clean, alternative energy sources. Students cook food with solar ovens and work with model hydrogen fuel cell cars to see how advancing technology can help protect the environment by reducing pollution and greenhouse gases.

Data from Hacienda’s solar panel, including how much electricity has been generated, money saved, and carbon dioxide offset can be viewed at the link below by clicking the “Show Solar Data” button.
