SUBJECT: Measure F auditor selection committee.(ACTION)

REQUESTED ACTION: That the Board of Education approve the composition of the Measure F auditor selection committee, pursuant to Proposition 39 to include no more than ten members representing the Board of Education, District staff and Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee; with no less than 50% of representation from the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee.

BACKGROUND: Pursuant to Proposition 39 a financial audit and performance audit must be performed for bond funds annually.

The district uses a committee process for auditor selection, issues requests for proposals and evaluates firms based upon predetermined criteria.

After reviewing proposals and interviewing finalists the committee forms a recommendation to the Board of Education for action.

The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee has requested that 3 to 5 members of their committee be represented on the audit selection committee.

The proposed composition of the committee is as follows:
