Convened Preschool Task Force to study & make recommendations to the SJUSD Board regarding the expansion of preschool services.

Preschool study completed and results reported to the SJUSD Board.

Development of “Preschool/School Readiness Initiative” CFF.  Programs and services to children (aged 0-5) and their families.

Conducted community outreach program. Parents and community representatives from local CBO’s participated in monthly meeting and planning retreat. Attachment # 3

Design & Development of Family Early Learning Centers (FELC).

FELC is included in the CFF grant application as a “new” program.

Three sites identified- Erikson, Washington, San Jose High Academy.

CFF Proposal Approved for “School Readiness”

$1.4M annually for operation of programs for 0-5 aged children and their families. Attachment # 5
