Since the BOE adopted the Implementation Plan at the October
16, 2003 meeting. District
staff has been busy negotiating contract and sending out Requests for
Qualifications to entities providing services necessary to the work
to be constructed under the Measure F program.
Contracts are being prepared for design and construction services
with the Architects, Engineers and Construction Managers, previously
approved by the BOE to be included in the selection pool for Measure
F projects. The following
is a list of Requests for Qualifications for services currently to be
advertised for response: 1.
Underground
Utility Location & Assessment Services 2.
Project
Inspection Services 3.
Special
Inspection Services 4.
Geo-technical,
Geo-hazard & CEQA Environmental Services 5.
Asbestos
and Hazardous Material Management Roofing Inspection Selection of qualified firms will be made in coming weeks and
contracts for these scopes of work are anticipated to be brought to
the Board in early December. Design efforts for the Stadium fields renovations have begun
and are progressing as anticipated to meet the current schedule of completion
next fall. Preliminary
Design Meetings have begun on the Central Kitchen and this facility
is targeting January 2005 to be operational. Once contracts
are signed for the balance of the first year projects the design teams
will be setting up meetings with the appropriate site staff and community
members to begin, in full force, the Measure F Program.
This is a very large program and there will be many meetings
involving many sites and individuals.
It will be extremely involved to manage all of these meetings,
without at least a few missteps, but we will endeavor to do our best
and keep the frustration down to a minimum.
Staff is currently developing a master meeting schedule and communication
tool to limit conflicts and attempt to ensure that all parties are aware
of meetings and any changes to them. |
