Principal’s Update

Good Evening San José High Families,

It is with deep regret that we inform you about a recent loss to our school community.  On Friday, March 16th, Isabelle Gonzalez, a junior at SJHS, passed away from injuries received in an automobile accident early Friday morning.  This loss is sure to raise many emotions, concerns, and questions for our entire school, especially our students.

A young person’s death is always tragic, and a sudden loss like this can have a profound effect on our students.  It is important that we recognize this loss and offer help.  We ask that over the next several days you make yourself available to your child to talk about what has happened and to provide reassurance, comfort, and support.

San José Unified School District has a Crisis Intervention Team made up of professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents, and school personnel at difficult times such as this.  We have counselors available for any student who may need or want help or support surrounding this loss.

On behalf of the entire Bulldog community, we want to extend our deepest sympathies to Isabelle’s family, friends, teammates, and teachers.  Our thoughts are with her family during this difficult time.

As always, please feel free to call us to answer your questions or assist you in dealing with this sad situation.  If you would like to know how to help the family, please call our main phone number at (408) 535-6320.  If you would like to donate towards the funeral expenses, the family has set up an account at the following link: Bring Isabelle Home
