The news that Conrad is to be drafted into the army creates a national crisis among his teenaged worshipers and spells doom for Albert, Conrad’s impoverished song writer. Adding to Albert’s woes are the attempts of his domineering mother to break up his romance with Rosie, his long suffering secretary. In an effort to solve the dilemma, Rosie gets Albert is write a special farewell song that Conrad will sing to a fan on The Ed Sullivan Show. The lucky girl selected to receive a parting kiss from Conrad is 16-year-old Kim of Sweet Apple, Ohio. But the singer’s arrival creates a near riot, as Kim’s boyfriend, Hugo, becomes jealous, her father refuses to let Conrad stay in his home, and Albert’s mother arrives on the scene. All ends happily, however, as the wonderful cast and crew take you through the comical and captivating events in Sweet Apple, Ohio.
