Recently categorical funds distributed to the districts were broken down into 3 tiers.

Tier 1: Monies will continue for the fund…nothing’s changed.
Tier 2: Monies will continue for the fund but with a 15% cut…the fund will continue to be used in the same manner as in years past.
Tier 3: Monies will continue for the fund but with a 15% cut and the funds can be used by the district as it deems necessary.

The On-Going Arts and Music Block Grant is a Tier 3 fund. Currently the district is conducting district-wide surveys that will determine where Tier 3 funds will be spent. The final decision on categorical funds will be based on results of the survey, teacher input, and analysis of overall district needs and priorities.
