Camera Cinemas present Opera and the Nutcracker Ballet

Camera Cinemas is kicking off a brand new opera and ballet series this month, with exclusive performances by Europe’s most prestigious and legendary opera houses and ballet companies.  These performances will be shown at Camera 7 Pruneyard in HD digital projection with Dolby Digital Sound.  The series starts Sunday, Dec. 7th and Wednesday, Dec. 10th with Verdi’s Aida, performed at La Scala, Italy’s premier opera house.  The following Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 13-14) they will be showing The Nutcracker, a holiday treat sure to delight children of all ages, performed by Moscow’s famous Kirov Ballet Company.

What makes the series particularly unique is its exclusivity and its affordable ticket prices.  You will not find performances by these world-renowned companies anywhere else in Silicon Valley.  All seats for our operas are $20 ($17 when three or more operas are purchased), and tickets for our ballets are only $15 for adults and seniors, $10 for children under 12.

If you have any questions, please e-mail Director of Marketing, Camera Cinemas or call 408-728-1212. Visit Camera Cinemas.com for more information.  For a copy of the fliers SJUSD_Opera_Ballet.pdf or SJUSD_Opera.pdf.

Hoover Choir Scores 1st Place

The Hoover Middle School Chamber Choir competed in the San Francisco Heritage Festival on Saturday, May 24.  Hoover’s advanced choir received high marks and praise, earning a gold rating and 1st place among all middle school choirs at the festival.  In addition, they were the only middle school ensemble (band, choir, or orchestra) to be invited to the prestigious Heritage Festivals of Gold competition, held in five U.S. cities, next year.  These students have worked extremely hard for their art this year, have shown professionalism and musicality beyond their years, and have represented Hoover and SJUSD extremely well.
