The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, the Main Branch of the San Jose Public Library system, is a joint venture with San Jose State University and has many offerings available to both the community and university.  The California Room, devoted to state and community history; the Steinbeck Center, focusing on the works of John Steinbeck; and the Beethoven Center are just a few of the many enticements to visit this extraordinary facility.

To find additional reading material for children, several branches of the San Jose Public Library system are near Booksin.  Check the website for story times, summer reading programs, and other special activities provided free of charge.

Santa Clara County has many park locations.  The website includes special family designed activities during each month of the year.  Chitactac-Adams Heritage County Park in Gilroy, was an Ohlone Indian site and features a self-guided tour including petroglyphs and grinding rocks.


Happy Hollow Park and Zoo

Part of the San Jose Regional Parks system. Climbing structures, a few rides, places to picnic, puppet theatre, wonderful small zoo.
