Class Projects 2008-2009
Early Explorers Students will work in pairs to study early explorers who mapped, explored, or helped create early settlements. Presentations, including a quiz on each explorer, will be created in Keynote.
State Reports This project will be done in class and in the computer lab. The state report is presented in a brochure format, and templates are provided to assist with formatting. Students will be given large blocks of time to work in class and should take completed outlines home, if necessary, to write in paragraph form in cursive. Anyone missing the final deadline will receive a lowered grade.
Famous American Reports Students will choose from a list of 50 individuals who have made a significant impact on life in the United States. Selection will be made on a first-come, first-served basis.
Science Fair Projects
Fourth and fifth grade students participate in an annual Science Fair. Packets will be sent home on Thursday, March 26, with complete information on due dates, expectations, hints for parent help, and project ideas. Science Fair projects are to be completed at home, and parents may offer some assistance. Parents must sign the Project Proposal page, and students must return the detached section to me on Wednesday, April 1. Students must plan their project completion according to the due dates indicated on the handout. The due dates are repeated here for easy reference.
