Dear Canoas Families,

Thank you all for attending the Parent/Teacher Conferences in November.  We hope that you have all the information you need about your child’s progress in school.  Remember to stay in close contact with your child’s teacher.  We will have more success in educating our students with your support as parents and families. 

Winter Performance: Come out on Tuesday, December 16 at 6:30 pm for a great Arts Performance by 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes.

We hope that you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and that you have many reasons to be thankful for.  We certainly do appreciate all our staff, students and families.  We are also truly grateful to Hillside Church for their generosity in donating time and resources to build our Canoas Garden Planters!  When you visit Canoas, please come to the flagpole area to enjoy the wonderful garden that is now growing.  We hope to have parent volunteers to help us tend to the garden during holidays and summer break.

Our API goal for this year is 759.  Here’s the cheer for this year:  “Eagles Shine at 759!  When will we shine? At 759!”

Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser Remider: We still needs more parent volunteers for the event to take place on March 27th . This important fundraiser provides funds for many school-wide activities, such as field trips and the 5th grade Science Camp.  All of these events will not occur without enough parent support and participation. Preparations are already beginning, so please contact the office to offer your support.

A simple fundraiser that all families can participate in is e-Scrip.  All you have to do is register your credit card or grocery store card online to participate.  All that is needed to raise money for Canoas is to simply use your card to make purchases.  Please visit the e-Scrip website to register your cards:

Another fundraiser that is quick and easy is Box Tops.  Mrs. Hoelzer, our parent volunteer in charge of this program, reported that we have raised $500 in November just by having students bring in box tops.  Keep collecting and sending in box tops to support this easy fundraiser. 

With the winter holidays approaching, we hope that you and your family will have a wonderful, restful and healthy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!

There will be no school for the holidays from December 22 to January 2.
