Accelerated Reader Program

Accelerated Reader Program (AR) is a reading incentive program.  Students read books and take tests during the year to earn points.  Point club certificates are awarded on a monthly basis at our Student of the Month assemblies.

Twice a year, AR competitions are held.  The beginning of the year theme centers around our literature selection for the year.  The winter competition is our Reading Olympics.

Canoas has enrolled in Renaissance Learning’s entire AR Quiz library.  Please visit the AR Book Find website for a list of all quizzes available.

The link to the right will take you to a new Renaissance Learning website where you can search for the quizzes we have available.  You may search by different criteria.  Remember to find books that are in your child’s reading span.  This reading span is the child’s ZPD.  It changes through the year.  Be sure to ask your child what their ZPD is and encourage them to continue reading.
