Anne Darling Elementary School
DOLPHIN TALES
Mrs. Storie, Principal
Even though this is a short month on the calendar, it is a busy one for us here at Anne Darling! Next week ( Feb 8-12), all students in grades 1-5 will be taking benchmark tests to help us measure our student’s learning before we start into the final part of our school year. It is important that your child is at school, rested and ready to show their best learning! This is not our big end-of-year test, but it is important for us to know how students are doing at this point in the school year. We will be using the results to help us plan for the rest of the year and to know how we can best support students as we continue our year of learning together.
Please be sure to check the Febuary calendar that is coming home as part of this newsletter—-we have no school during the week of February 15-19. School will start again on Monday, February 22 after the break.
Please help us during arrival and dismissal times——
The driveway area alongside the 2-story building is a passenger loading zone. Please pull up as far as possible if you are waiting in your car for a student. An adult must remain in the vehicle while waiting.
Tuesday is early dismissal day—-primary students (gr 1-3) are dismissed at 1:00 and upper grade students are dismissed at 1:15. (There has been no change is the dismissal times on Tuesdays.) Many students are coming into the office every week on Tuesdays to call home for a ride—please support your child in being on time if you pick them up after school, especially on early Tuesdays!
School Accountability Report Cards (SARC)
Public schools throughout California are required to provide information to the community in the form of an annual School Accountability Report Card (SARC). These report cards provide a variety of data about a school’s student achievement, environment, resources, and demographics.
Updated SARC’s for the 2008-2009 school year (published in 2009-2010) are posted on the District’s website and a hard copy is available at each school site. Your principal will be able to answer any questions regarding your school’s SARC. Printed copies can be provided upon request by calling the Office of External Programs at (408) 535-6650.
