School Rules

General School Rules:

Act like a learner.

Be respectful in language and actions towards others.

Use equipment properly and treat school property with care.

Keep hands and feet in your own space inside and outside.

Playground/Outside Rules:

Students are not to play in the primary courtyard before school, during recess and after school without verified teacher permission.

When bell rings, STOP/freeze. When the whistle blows, WALK to the place where your classroom lines up.

Students are not allowed in classrooms or in the primary courtyard during recess.

Unacceptable activities include physical contact (no kicking, hitting or pulling on others) no tag or tag-like games, .

No gum, toys, bikes, skateboards or “heelies”.  If these are brought to school, they will be kept in the principal’s office until a parent comes with ttthe student to pick the item(s) up.

If you bring a ball or play equipment from home that is used inappropriately at school, it will be kept in the principal’s office until a parent comes with the student to get it. 

Games are open to everyone.  Rules should be agreed on before play starts.  No student may be cut from a game by another student.

If food is eaten outside, trash is to be picked up and disposed of appropriately.

No loitering or playing in bathrooms. 

Play Equipment Rules:

There must be an adult in the play structure area in order for students to use it during recess.  If a student uses the structure before or after school, there must be an adult/parent with him/her.

Slides are to go down, one person at a time.

Ladders and poles are for one person at a time.

Students must have hands on the bars if they are using them.  No sitting or standing on bars.

No jumping off play equipment.

The yard supervisor may limit the number of students on the play structure in order to keep everyone safe.

Lunch Rules:

Use appropriate indoor behavior and voices.

Stay seated at your assigned table. 

Keep food and trash in your own space.

Students will be dismissed by tables when all trash and litter is picked up and ready to be disposed of properly.
