netTrekker

NetTrekker is an academic search engine specifically designed for school use. Similar to a “google” search on the Internet, NetTrekker supplies only pre-screened and educationally relevant K-12 resources. Each site is evaluated for appropriate grade, content and an over-all rating.
In addition to key word searches, NetTrekker supports State standards, and can drill down through specific subject areas and do cross-curricular search themes.
NetTrekker allows students and staff to find information through categories such as current events, newspapers world-wide, famous people and time-lines -all producing relevant and up-to-date search results.

Searches may also be saved for later research or shared with other NetTrekker users.

Purchased by SJUSD and free to all SJUSD schools, students, parents and staff, NetTrekker is available to use at school or home, through the Internet, after setting up a user account.
