As a 2001 National Blue Ribbon recipient in Technology, Los Alamitos Elementary established a reputation for educational excellence. A highly skilled and experienced faculty provide a challenging academic program with a commitment to reading, problem solving, and the writing process. Our academic program emphasizes basic skills and is aligned with the California State Content Standards for all curricular areas. The needs of our diverse learning population are also met through integrated thematic instruction, lab experiences, and enrichment in the fine arts. Students are encouraged to do project-oriented work, use the scientific method, make responsible decisions, develop leadership skills, and demonstrate citizenship through developing life skills.
