Graystone Elementary School is committed to challenging students by expanding their world. We have been named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence twice: in 1991 and 2001. An Early Literacy Program, hands-on science, early introduction to computers and a thinking, meaning-centered curriculum continue to be used to prepare students to compete in the 21st century. Staff development activities are resulting in the alignment of school curriculum with state standards and benchmarks and the careful analyzing of testing data. After listening to parent input and noting test results, our staff is continuing their work in developing the writing standards for all children. The dedication of our staff and our Graystone Community provides an atmosphere that expects excellence and encourages the academic, cultural and social growth of all our students.
