Hoover Middle School

Hoover Middle School, an Advanced Design Technology Magnet offers an intensive instructional program using the latest tools of technology. For over 70 years, Hoover has maintained a tradition of academic excellence which has been more recently coupled with a rigorous and exciting magnet program. Awarded funding from the US Office of Education, Magnet Schools Assistance Program, Hoover’s staff has designed a new program that encourages students to achieve, using an electronic platform. All students will be engaged in this rigorous and technological program.  Examples of learning will include electronic book publishing, podcasting, blogging, digital animation, documentary film making, digital music and, as always, productions from the choral, orchestral, instrumental music, theatre arts, dance, and visual arts departments. Students will also be offered a two-way Spanish language bilingual immersion strand. In addition to these challenging courses, there are clubs and other activities available to students. We are committed to providing an environment in which all children are encouraged to develop their maximum academic and artistic potential.
