The “Teach Here, Live Here” program is designed to help retain and attract new teachers to San José. Individual grants of $5000 are being issued. To qualify, teachers must both work and live in San José and state a three year commitment to the area.

Home Buyer Program For San Jose Public School Teachers
The Department of Housing in the City of San Jose offers public K-12 schoolteachers a deferred payment loan of up to $65,000 to assist in the purchase of a home in San Jose. Security deposit discount
The tri-county Apartment Association in association with the City of San José sponsors the “Move for Less” Program which limits the security deposits for teachers to 20% of the rent. For a list of participating properties go to http://www.tcaa.org.
