The Search for a new Superintendent Begins With the retirement of Superintendent Don Iglesias, the San Jose Unified Board of Education has begun the process of selecting a new superintendent. The Board has asked Leadership Associates, a firm which has conducted over 200 searches in California including several in the Silicon Valley, to assist the Board with the search. Leadership will be represented by Walt Buster, Peggy Lynch, and Jim Brown. They have all served as superintendents in California and remain active leaders in California public education. The Lincoln Foundation Teacher of the Year Nominations
Each year the Lincoln Foundation awards two teachers with $2500 Outstanding Teacher Awards. Staff, students and parents are encouraged to nominate any Lincoln instructor who they feel is worthy of this honor. Please complete the attached Nomination Form and return it to Stacey Campbell at Lincoln High School no later that April 2nd. Community Forum
With the impending retirement of Superintendent Don Iglesias, the District has contracted with Leadership Associates to conduct the search for a new Superintendent and to host a community forum to gather input as to the qualities desired in a superintendent. Date: Tuesday, March 9; Time: 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Place: the Board Room at SJUSD. YMCA Campo Alegre:
Become an Asset SUPERHERO to kids today!

YMCA Campo Alegre is a Spring Break camp that is fully supsidized for children from low-income families. As a camp leader, you will live in a cabin with a small group of kids (about 8) and supervise those children during their meals and activities throughout the week. Prescott Dorius wins gold!
Prescott Dorius repeats his regional win this year as the CCOC Truck Mechanics gold medal winner. Scott also won a gold at the 2009 state SkillsUSA competition and will compete in the national competition in June. At SkillsUSA, Scott won a $25,000 scholarship to Universal Technology Institute and a $15 scholarship to Wyotech University.


Clair Straus named National Merit Finalist
We are proud to announce that Claire Straus has advanced to finalist standing in the National Merit Scholarship Program. All finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarships to be offered in 2010.  Congratulations, Claire Straus… and keep up the good work!

A.P. Study Retreat
March 26-28

The AP Retreat study experience is a highly effective kick-off to 4 weeks of AP Exam preparation. The rigorous academic content and materials, coupled with challenging confidence building activities, will translate into greater student achievement on the AP Exams and beyond. Transportation to and from camp is by school bus departing at lunchtime on Friday March 26 and returning to Lincoln at approximately 4PM on Sunday March 28. Click here for all the details: A.P. Please join us as we honor our upcoming HOF class on Sunday, May 16 at 5 pm.
Cabritos Mexican Bistro 685 El Camino Real Sunnyvale.  Each Inductee and three members of his or her family will be our guests.
