Abraham Lincoln High School > Tuesday, September 2

Tuesday, September 2

Good morning Lincoln High School.  Today is Tuesday, September 2nd and these are your daily announcements.

STUDENT NOTES:
A reminder to all students. The bottom floor of the main building is off limits during lunch and brunch.

Come celebrate the beginning of school by attending the Welcome Back dance on Friday, September 5th. Tickets are $3:00 each and can be purchased in the school bank during lunch or after school.

A reminder to all students that you are to keep your hang-out areas clean during brunch and lunch, and areas that are not kept clean will be made off limits during break times. This week the steps to the front entrance (on the south side of the building) are off limits during brunch and lunch due to excessive trash.

Attention all Social Science classes: we are bringing back the Student Senate, which consists of one representative from every Social Science class on campus. A student Senator will be chosen from each class who will attend the Senate sessions and report the information back to their history class. Contact Mr. Roark or your history teacher for more information.

Students, please become informed about our dress code: for the girls: no overly short skirts or shorts, tube tops and spaghetti straps are prohibited, and midriffs should not be exposed. For the boys, oversized T’s and tank tops are not allowed, and baggy pants that slide to hip level are not acceptable. For all students:  items in solid red are prohibited, and no more than one red item can be worn at a time. No hats or hoods until the cold weather hits (after November 1), and team jerseys not permitted, except those from Lincoln. A complete list of rules can be found in the student handbook.

Students who need community service hours can find a list of opportunities posted outside Mr. Roark’s office. The community service form has been changed this year and both sides must be completed properly to receive credit. Incomplete forms will be returned. You can pick up a new form in Student Services.

A word to the wise… avoid having your cell phone or iPod confiscated by remembering that you can only use them before 7:00 am and after 3:30 pm.... and no ski caps or hoods until the official Lincoln cold weather season begins November 1st. Baseball caps are always taboo.

Attention all Freshman: If you are interested in running for Freshman Class office you can pick up applications today from Mr. Roark or in Student Services.

Josten’s is coming !!!!! Check out all the cool ring designs on Thursday and Friday outside the theater.  A $50 deposit is required to order.  Pick up a catalog in the Student Services office.
