STUDENT NOTES
Students who need community service hours can find a list of opportunities posted outside Mr. Roark’s office. The community service form has been changed this year and both sides must be completed properly to receive credit. Incomplete forms will be returned. You can pick up a new form in Student Services.

A word to the wise… avoid having your cell phone or iPod confiscated by remembering that you can only use them before 7:00 am and after 2:30 pm.... and no ski caps or hoods until the official Lincoln cold weather season begins November 1st. Baseball caps are always taboo.

The San Jose City Council is looking for two students to serve on the Youth Commission.  The goal of the Youth Commission is to foster student involvement in municipal government.  Contact Mr. Roark for more information.

Seniors!  There will be a mandatory class meeting this Thursday, September 11th, at lunch in room; 72.  Please come to talk about fundraising, class shirts and all that good stuff.  See you there!

Attention Freshmen:  The office of Treasurer is still open and you can join the race by picking up an Application to Run for Office in Student Services. Contact Mr. Roark

Juniors!
The Princeton Review is offering a free practice test for the PSAT.
Sunday, Sept 14 at Foothill College in Los Altos, Ca
Time 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Juniors & Seniors!
Student and Parent ACT/SAT Combo Test Results & Strategy Seminar:  Wednesday, September 10, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Juniors or Seniors who need foreign language credits to graduate can take the Foreign Language Challenge Exam.  Sign up in the College & Career Center by Friday, Sept. 12.

Interested in becoming a Fire Fighter!  San Jose Fire Department is having a Careers Information Session on Thursday, Sept. 18th, from 6:30 to 9:00pm, at the San Jose Fire Department’s BFO Campus. Contact the College & Career Center for more info.

SPORTS:
If you are interested in playing roller hockey this year, please see Mr. Church in room P103 no later than September 10.~ This is a club sport with one practice each week, and one game each Saturday.~ New players welcome! ~

CLUBS:
There will be a Mandatory O Ambassadors club meeting in room P102 during advisory.  You must attend if you are a member or would like to become a member for the next school year.  We need good people who are willing to help the global community.

The Junior Class T-Shirt Design Contest is on until this Friday. Contact any Junior Class officer or Ms. Campion for more info.
