English Department Overview

Students will read and interpret a variety of literary works at differing levels of difficulty and from various historical contexts:

Students will improve their critical thinking skills as readers and decision makers
Students will increase their ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written English
Students will expand their understanding and tolerance of alternative perspectives of the world

Students will be presented with learning opportunities helping them to acquire and improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
