Resource Specialist Program

The Resource Specialist Program works with the students from the mainstream who have specific needs in reading (comprehension, retention, decoding, encoding), English, Social Studies and other language related deficits. They also work with students who have specific needs in Mathematics, i.e. calculation, computation and operations. Students attend one to two periods per day and are in mainstream classes for the rest of the school day. A Guided Studies course is offered for 9th and 10th grade students in order to help them in their mainstream classes to maintain academic success.

Self-Contained Classroom
Self-contained classrooms deal with students who have greater educational needs. Their course offerings include:

* English
* Math
* Reading
* Science
* Social Studies
* State Requirements
* U.S. History
* Art
* American Government
* Economics

Teachers work hard to help students achieve their maximum potential and move up the scale of course work into mainstream classes as the students become proficient in their skills. The students are also encouraged to take part in Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities to achieve a balanced high school program.
