STUDENT NOTES

Seniors:  This is the last week to have your portrait taken if you want to be in the yearbook. The photographers will be here at 4:00 all week, but you need to call 1-888-898-grad to schedule an appointment.

Attention all students:  The Media Center will be closed for brunch, lunch and advisory periods through Thursday of this week.  The Media Center will be open after school and will reopen during the day on Friday.

Students who need community service hours can find a list of opportunities posted outside Mr. Roark’s office. The community service form has been changed this year and both sides must be completed properly to receive credit. Incomplete forms will be returned. You can pick up a new form in Student Services.

A word to the wise… avoid having your cell phone or iPod confiscated by remembering that you can only use them before 7:00 am and after 2:30 pm.... and no ski caps or hoods until the official Lincoln cold weather season begins November 1st. Baseball caps are always taboo.

Student:  Just a reminder regarding your lockers!  do not put back packs, skate boards, dance bags or sports bags in your locker.  Anything pressing against the door or the locking device and it will not open.  We will open it for you two times, after that you will be removed from your locker, the combination will be changed and the locker will be assigned to a student on the waiting list…….

Spirit week is coming. Tuesday is wear your pajamas day, Wednesday is crazy hair day, Thursday is twin day, and Friday is blue and gold day.

Teachers and students:  This week kicks off our Safeway eScrip campaign where Safeway donates 10% of the dollar value of your store receipts between Sept. 12th and Sept 26th.  to inspire you, we’re hosting a competition between all 2nd period classes where you can win a pizza party if your class brings in the most receipts.  We will award three parties, one for each week of the contest…and you can win more than once!  Free pizza for bringing in receipts…now, what could possibly be easier?

The San Jose Holiday Parade is looking for volunteers to help with this year’s event.  If you are interested in becoming one of Santa’s volunteers you can pick up a form outside of Mr. Roark’s office.

Attention all Leadership class students!  If you need more football fliers to finish distributing them to the houses around Lincoln, see Mr. Slayton in P110.

Attention Link Crew students!  Our first Link Crew meeting is in the media Center THIS FRIDAY!!  Come and get your community service hours signed.  See you there.

CAREER CENTER

Need foreign language credits to graduate, take the Foreign Language Challenge Exam.  Sign up in the College & Career Center by today.

Interested in becoming a Fire Fighter!  San Jose Fire Department is having a Careers Information Session.  Thursday, Sept. 18th, from 6:30 to 9:00pm, at the San Jose Fire Department, BFO Campus, more info in the College & Career Center.

Questbridges National College Match is offer a 4 year scholarship application for low income students, with a 3.0 GPA.  Deadline is Sept. 30, 2008. For more info come to the College & Career Center.

SPORTS:

Attention all girls wanting to play basketball this season.  Even if you are currently playing a fall sport, please sign-up in room F and for some important information.

Also there are two spaces available on the Lady Lion Golf Team.  No experience or equipment required.  Stop by room F anytime during lunch and brunch and receive an informational packet.

The first rally of the year is this friday in the main gym at lunch. Show your school spirit and come dressed in blue and gold.

CLUBS:

There will be a Mandatory O Ambassadors club meeting in room P102 tomorrow, Tuesday during advisory.  You must attend if you are a member or would like to become a member for the next school year.  We need good people who are willing to help the global community.
