California Scholarship Federation

CSF (CA Scholarship Federation) is an statewide honorary society based strictly on academic achievement.  Each semester, students must reapply for membership using their grades from the previous semester.  State requirements are very stringent on the timeline for application submission, and schools are not allowed to take applications from any grading period other than the preceding semester.
The goal for students is to be eligible for membership for four of the six semester for their 10th, 11th and 12th grade years. (The state organization does not recognize freshman grades for eligibility) Once this goal is achieved, students have earned the privilege to wear the gold honor cord at graduation and are granted lifetime membership in CSF.  The CSF seal is also placed on their transcripts and their diploma. The lifetime membership is recognized by colleges and universities as representing academic excellence.  A few schools offer small scholarships for lifetime members.
Dues are $3.00 per semester, beginning the second semester of a students’s sophomore year.  Since freshman grades are not recognized for eligibility, 9th grade students do not pay dues, but are recognized as auxiliary members of CSF.
Susan Greene is the CSF advisor, and may be reached at for further information.
