I have worked in San Jose Unified for almost 20 years. I began my career teaching art at San Jose High in 1974, but left the profession in 1979 due to Proposition 13 layoffs. I worked for a pharmaceutical company as a hospital rep for a few years before landing the position as Art Director for a small, local magazine. After 15 years, I returned to teaching in 1994, landing a job at Lincoln teaching Art and Yearbook. My formal art training and my experience with the magazine was the perfect marriage for the position; it was the perfect fit.
As an artist and publisher, there is no better school suited for me than Lincoln; the depth of our visual and performing arts programs cannot be matched by any other school in the valley (and maybe even the state) and I am proud to be a member of this outstanding team. But after so many years in the classroom I felt it was time to move on. I went back to school to earn an M.A. in Education Administration and assumed the job as Assistant Principal of Activities. I am excited to be a member of this terrific leadership team, and I am looking forward to many great years in administration.
