Honors and Awards

In 2000 our school received the great honor of being designated a California Distinguished School. River Glen has also received the 1988-89 Glenn Hoffman Award for Exemplary Programs in the County of Santa Clara, the 1990-91 Exemplary Bilingual Practices Award from the California Association of Bilingual Education, the 1991-95 Exemplary Bilingual Program from the California State Department of Education, the CABE Seal of Academic Excellence Award in 1996, and this year 2007 we received the California Department of Education Title 1 Academic Achievement Award. The program also received a National Title VII Academic Excellence Award to serve as a dissemination model for districts throughout the United States for 1995-97.

Every month, River Glen hosts a visit for educators interested in replicating our program. These educators come from the Bay Area, California, the United States, and other countries.
