Visual Arts

The Visual Arts program at Trace encourages students to be problem solvers. 

While learning about the elements of line, shape, color, texture, space and value, young artists explore a variety of materials and art-making processes from drawing and painting to printmaking and weaving.  Students regularly engage in self-assessment practices developing vocabulary skills, as well aesthetic awareness of their own works and those of others.

Lessons in the art room are regularly integrated with classroom curriculum concepts.  During preparation for grade-level performances, art room experiences are generally tied to the theatrical/musical goals of the upcoming production.
