Washington school is providing a variety of educational and Support Services for all our students and their parents.
For our students who are below or far below basic we offer:
1. Homework center/Learning Lab before school for our 2nd-5th graders in Ms. Garcia at The Library. If your students needs more support on their homework bring them early.
2. U.A. pullout for phonics and phonemic awareness review
3. After school intervention programs: Choral with Catholic Charities, Extreme Learning and Tutor Works
4. Saturday Migrant Eduction Migrant students are invited to registar for classes on Saturday (K-highschool)
For our students who are at basic, we offer:
1. Talking books with 4th and 5th graders with Stephen Hulse. Students will be exposed to more literature through books on tape.
2. After school tutoring in 3rd grade to reteach and pre-teach the heavy weight standards.
For all of our students, we offer:
1. Access to computers using Ren. Place (Math and Language Arts) programs before, during recess and after school.
2. Gift of Love music program with Ms. Carol teaching character building through music
3. Year book and web site journalism group for 3rd-5th grade with Ms. Daroczi.
4. BAWSI Girls Go! after school exercise program for our 3rd and 5th grade girls. Parents and teachers are invited.Go Girls Go!
5. Girls Scouts.
For our Kindergarten and preschool students and their parents, we offer:
1. Monday and Wednesday ELD class for these parents
2. Academic support for these students during parent ELD classes.
3. Club de Lectura with the Kinder teachers. Parents and students work together on Reading Strategies. Parents also receive workshops on Reading Literacy every Saturday
