Washington Elementary School > Silvia Rendón

Silvia Rendón

This is my third year working at Washington as a Second grade teacher.

One of the things I love about working at Washington Elementary is that it allows me to work with my community. It also allows me to contribute in making a difference in the lives of my students by providing them with tools that give them a head start for a better life.

I am happiest at school when I see student’s faces light up when they make connections and/or are excited about learning something new.

My teaching philosophy includes:

1. Create a safe atmosphere in which every student and parent feels welcomed and respected. 2. Implement classroom management that is clear, fair and beneficial to the students’ development both academically and personally. 3. Build a positive and compassionate relationship with students. 4. Inspire students to be involved in their own intellectual development and become independent thinkers.

My interests outside of school include: gardening, bike riding, reading, cooking, and salsa dancing!

My birthday is in October.
