As a veteran teacher at Washington Elementary, I believe Washington Elementary is a place where success, unity, and achievement are seen. Washington school is not only a unified community, but family working towards the same goal: Equipping children with skills to achieve academic success, and developing productive members of society and building lifelong learners.
I believe teaching is one of the most rewarding professions, yet one of the most challenging. Teaching provides us with the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life. Teaching is a gift that few are privileged to have. At times, I feel overwhelmed and powerless, but I have our future leaders in my classroom, and for THEM I am here every day.
I believe every child has the potential to succeed provided that s/he receives the appropriate academic instruction at his/her level. I believe every child deserves an equitable and fair education. I believe every child should be challenged to reach its fullest potential. I believe every child should feel safe and wanted, regardless of the circumstances.
I believe every parent has the right to expect the best education for his or her child. I believe every parent should be responsible and actively participate in his or her child’s education. I believe every parent and teacher should work together, so that children can achieve their fullest potential
I believe teachers possess immense power to make a child succeed or fail. A teacher is a mother, counselor, doctor, caregiver and a role model.
Here are few six-word poems that express what teaching is to me:
Teaching
Planning, preparing Love, stress
solving, revising success, sadness
I do. I feel.
Joy, happiness, Exploring, growth
laughter, frustration fulfillment, discovery
I hear. I see.
This is what I believe,
