Stephen René Hulse

Years Working at Washington:
This is my thirteenth year working at Washington School.

The best part about working at Washington Elementary is:
To have meaningful things to do with and for students and to have the opportunity to work with dedicated colleagues whom I have come to know so well.

This year I am proud to work as a HOSTS Helping One Student To Succeed Tutoring Coordinator and Reading Teacher because:
I enjoy working with the surrounding community, and also because Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Literature and Words are among my favorite subjects.

My teaching philosophy includes:
Becoming involved with the cultural knowledge that students and their families bring with them to school. I like Piaget, John Dewey and Freire equally.

I am happiest at school when:
I can share what I have learned. I also get excited when I learn from students, parents and colleges.

My interests outside of school include:
Singing, playing guitar, writing songs, traveling reading, watching old movies and feeding my six cats.
