School Rules

GENERAL SCHOOL RULES

Willow Glen Elementary School students will:
• Be respectful, courteous, and polite to all adults and peers.
• Follow directions of all school personnel.
• Keep the school environment clean and safe.
• Be responsible for their actions.
• Do their best at all times.

BUILDING RULES

Willow Glen Elementary School students shall:
• Walk inside the building.
• Talk politely and in a quiet voice.
• Use proper entrance and exit doors.
• Be in the building only with adult supervision.
• Report to the office only when sent by school personnel with a pass or in case of an emergency (no pass needed).

ASSEMBLY RULES

Willow Glen Elementary School students shall:
• Enter quietly and sit in designated area.
• Remain quiet and give attention to the program.
• Avoid talking and distractions.
• Be courteous
• Keep hands and feet to themselves.
• Sit flat and not on their knees.
• Know that booing and whistling are not appropriate.

LUNCH BEHAVIOR

Willow Glen Elementary School students are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly and mannerly fashion
while eating lunch. Repeated violations of the rules may result in losing school privileges or other consequences.
Students are encouraged not to waste or trade food. Students with sack lunches should not bring items in glass
containers. Please note: Microwaves are not available for student use.
A. Basic lunch rules include:
1. No loud or boisterous talking.
2. No throwing of food.
3. No disruption of another student.
4. Use of acceptable table manners.
5. Cleanup of eating area before asking permission to leave.
6. Students will remain seated quietly with hands folded showing they are ready to leave.
7. Students will be dismissed one table at a time.
8. Students will carry all lunch items out and dispose of them properly.

GENERAL BEHAVIOR

Willow Glen Elementary School students will:
• Remain within school boundaries
• Play only on blacktop, grass and tanbark areas
• Not cross or play in parking lot area
• Follow safety rules
• Take turns, no “locked” games
• Throw balls only in organized games
• Kick appropriate balls only on grass area
• Hold balls while waiting in line
• Walk on the blacktop
• Not play in the restrooms
• Not cut or save place in line
• Stop, look & listen when the whistle is blown
• Stop playing and line up when the bell rings
• Not use profane or offensive body gestures
• Not fight or play games that look like fighting
• Not play “tag” games at school
• “Freeze” when the bell rings to end recess
• Wait for the whistle
• Walk to class
Note: Students are not to bring toys from home, except for sharing. Students must understand that sharing toys are
not to be played with in class and are NOT to be taken out at recess. Exceptions: Nerf balls and jump ropes.
