Grade Level Expectancy Booklets

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Your child is an integral member of this learning community and we are pleased to work with him/her. San Jose Unified School District offers strong academic programs for its students. Our commitment is to not only teach your child but to design a curriculum that is interesting, challenging and academically rigorous based on state and district standards. We are fully committed to assisting your child in meeting those standards.

This guidebook specifies the knowledge and skills we expect students at this grade level to know and to be able to do. Students who meet these standards will be prepared for the next grade level and ultimately for meeting our rigorous graduation requirements and passing the required California High School Exit Exam.

Please take the time to review the grade level standards delineated in this pamphlet for your child’s grade level. Take time with your child’s teacher and principal to ask questions and comment upon your child as a learner. Use this information to help guide your child’s learning at home as well.
