Freshman year is an important one, when students are transitioning from middle school to high school, and laying down a strong academic foundation as they start work towards fulfilling the requirements for high school graduation and college entry.

We work with Freshman students and their parents, ensuring that all students complete a four-year academic plan, and are fully aware of the
academic requirements for college entry. As part of this, all students will have access to individual academic counseling, and also participate
in two programs of college and career exploration and research.

FRESHMAN PARENT EVENING: START NOW! MAKING COLLEGE PLANS
Thursday October 1st, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the College and Careers Center

This evening offers the opportunity to review the course requirements for graduation from high school and for eligibility to the California University systems.  We will review the career/college exploration programs that all Freshmen will participate in, and discuss the support the College and Careers Center offers to Freshman students

All Freshman students will attend a series of classes on academic planning, and take part in Career Research, during their Social Studies classes.
