After-School All-Stars
The mission of the After-School All-Stars is to provide comprehensive out of school programs that keep children safe and help them achieve in school and in life. Every day in the United States as many as 15 million children leave school with no place to go. How a child spends the critical few hours between the end of the school day and the time parents arrive home from work can literally change that child’s life. The “danger zone” for most adolescents is from 2:00 - 6:00 pm, and by offering comprehensive programs for students, we are keeping them safe during this critical time period.
WILLOW GLEN MIDDLE FACTSProgram Hours: 2:00 - 5:00 pm Tuesday thru Friday; Monday hours are 1:15 - 5:00 pm because of the school minimum day. Enrollment Maximum: 100 students (40 6th graders, 40 7th & 8th graders, 20 administrative placements). Priority is given to returning students. It must be your child’s choice to be in the program - please do not choose for them. Site Status: Program enrollment is at capacity; accepting names for waiting list. Attendance: Attendance is mandatory, Monday through Friday. Three unexcused absences will result in removal from the program. Participants must stay for the entire program! Homework: Students must participate in homework every day. Sports Programs: Any student may join the sports league, but they must enroll in the After-School All-Stars program after they make the team.
