Uniform Policy

Willow Glen Middle School follows the expectations for students found in the SJUSD Student / Parent Handbook. Please see the handbook for dress code regulations. Students must wear the basic school uniform to, from and during school with the exception of P.E. class.

Shirts:
White or Forest Green standard school polo - 2 or 3 buttons only
White or Forest Green button-down oxford shirt
On Fridays, can wear School Spirit T-Shirt (available for sale), or other club, activity or sports team shirts.

Skirts / Skorts / Jumpers:
Lewis Plaid #13288 at Merry Mart and/or Khaki (tan) – no shorter than 3” above knee

Pants / Shorts: 
Khaki (tan), twill chinos - “dickies” allowed if label is removed
Must be worn at the waistline, be size appropriate, and must not sag
Hem appropriately - use of pins, rubber bands or staples is not allowed
Shorts to be worn 2” to 4” above the knee - no “cutoffs”

Sweatshirts / Sweaters / Jackets: 
WGMS Logo Sweatshirts are available for sale (ask in office)
Acceptable colors: black, gray, green, white yellow, or brown only
No athletic or team apparel (i.e., Raiders, 49ers, Sharks, etc.) Hoods must be down throughout the school day
Hats are not allowed
No red, pink, purple, maroon, light/baby blue, blue or shades thereof allowed

Undershirts (T-Shirts / Turtlenecks / Thermals):
Solid white only - must be tucked in at all times and be worn under uniform shirt

Shoes / Socks / Belts / Hair Items or other Accessories:
Acceptable colors: black, gray, green, white only.
No red, pink, purple, maroon, light/baby blue, blue or shades thereof allowed
Shoes cannot have symbols, lines, or soles of any of the restricted colors
Belts and belt buckles cannot have any symbols or initials

Backpacks / Bags / Binders / Book Covers: 
No graffiti, team names, photos, symbols or other writing allowed (except student name)
Acceptable colors: black, gray, green, white, brown, or yellow only
No red, pink, purple, maroon, light/baby blue, blue or shades thereof allowed

P.E. UNIFORMS

P.E. uniforms are required to be worn during Physical Education classes.  To order, please visit the P.E. Department. Cash or checks only; prices include sales tax.

*Please note that sweatpants are not to be worn on campus, except for during gym class. 

Excuses such as “my uniform is dirty” or “it’s in the wash” are not legitimate reasons to be out of uniform. It is each student’s responsibility to have his or her uniform daily. 

Administration is responsible for the final determination whether clothing and/or accessories are in accordance with the school uniform policy, and may hold onto unacceptable apparel until school loaners are returned.

Students may purchase a WGMS logo sweatshirt for $13 in the school office.  Color choices are Forest Green, White or Black.
