2008 “GROWING READERS” WING TASTING & AUCTION

Dear WGMS Parents,
I would like to invite you to the Willow Glen Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year, the 2008 “Growing Readers” Wine Tasting & Auction. It’s is going to be a wonderful party this year! Here is what we have planned:

* Wine tasting- provided by Clos LaChance, Stroth Hall, Trei Ricci, Cinnabar, Joseph George and possibly others
* Gourmet hot and cold appetizers, catered by two of our own middle school parents, Cindy Jacobs and Heather Giddens
* Cheese tasting by the Grapevine
* Chocolate sampling by Schurra’s Fine Confections
* Beer sampling hosted by middle school parent Michael Doherty with Gordon Biersch beers
* Live music
* Silent auction - your opportunity to bid on vacation homes, spa treatments, shopping parties and much more
* Surprise gifts to purchase – you could get a $100 gift for $20!
* Your own event wine glass to take home

Below are the details of this “don’t miss” event of the fall

Date: Sunday, November 2
Time: 3:00 - 7:00 pm
Location: the NEW Willow Glen Public Library on Minnesota Ave.
Cost: Tickets are $60 per person, $10 of which goes to support the new public library.

We will use the money made at the event (with your help, it will be $30,000) to:
* Refresh and update books in both school libraries;
* Expand the individualized reading program in the middle school;
* Put more books in language arts and literature classrooms; and
* Fund 8th grade literature circles.
