Definition
|
 |
Under general direction to maintain parts, inventory, and to repair instructional, operational
and custodial equipment; and to do related work consistent with the job description.

Examples of Duties
|
 |
Maintains, services, repairs such items as: scrubbing machines, vacuum cleaners, pile lifters,
dry foam machines, portable electric D.E. vacuums, pool equipment, furniture, visual aid
carts, tricycles, wagons, etc.; receives and maintains parts and repair items; sets up
preventative maintenance program; supervises and assigns work as needed; prepares all
furniture and equipment orders; assists other personnel with their duties when requested by
the Director of Operations or designee,

Distinguishing Characteristics
|
 |
Positions in this classification are distinguished from Operations Technician I by
supervising, assigning and directing the works of others.
|

Employment Standards
|
 |
A.
|
Knowledge of:
|
 |
Tools, equipment, wiring diagrams, exploded view drawings, electric motors,
mechanical drive systems;
|
 |
Safe work practices.
|
 |
B.
|
Ability to:
|
 |
Work on own initiative and be responsible for completion and quality of work;
|
 |
Perform a variety of mechanical and electrical systemsrepairs;
|
 |
Independently reconstruct equipment to meet District
standards and needs;
|
 |
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions;
|
 |
Meet the public tactfully and courteously and establish and maintain cooperative and
effective working relationships;

C.
|
Education/Training/Experience:
|
 |
Completion of 12th grade or equivalent or any combination of education, two (2)
years experience and training which meets or exceeds the standards of knowledge, skills
and abilities listed above. Two (2) years experience and mechanical aptitude to perform
duties as explained
