Under general direction, supervises the input and output control functions for student
academic data in the District computer center. Acts as a user liaison to insure the
satisfactory delivery of user requests for services; trains District personnel and students on
the microcomputer system and on-line terminals; does related work consistent with the job
description.

Examples of Duties
|
 |
Serves as a resource person for the options and methods available in obtaining student data
from the computer center particularly at the secondary school level in the areas of
scheduling, grade reports, and warning notices. Assists via telephone or at school sites in the
training of school personnel and students in the operation of on-line computer terminals and
microcomputer system. Creates and implements forms on the microcomputer system to
enhance attendance monitoring program. Is responsible for being informed of the
programming needs of schools and departments regarding student data and works with
programmers to meet these needs. Assigns, directs and reviews work of data input
processors; performs input/output scheduling and control functions for the District's
computer center; insures timely and proper interpretation, execution and output distribution
for each request or regularly scheduled production run; processes, interprets and logs user
requests and determines the appropriate program sequence of programs; accumulates all
materials for the operation. Screens user source data for completeness; schedules and
monitors the program of scheduled requests and initiates schedule changes to accommodate
established priorities. Reviews and distributes output; maintains control cards for District
production and request programs .
