I.Title District Attendance Control Technician I

 

II.Definition

 

Under close supervision, to perform responsible clerical accounting work in preparation and maintenance of an interrelated set of attendance records, and to do related work consistent with the job description.

 

III.Examples of Duties

 

Audits student and attendance data received from schools, centers and other departments; inputs student data updates via a computer terminal; verifies computer generated output; maintains lists of students in certain classifications; communicates with schools/departments to reconcile discrepancies; interprets and audits computer generated attendance reports to reconcile and resubmit discrepancies and identify omitted students, prepares correction forms for Data Processing; audits and reconciles the final monthly computer generated reports and revises figures as necessary; maintains manual records of attendance for students in certain classifications.

V.Employment Standards

 

A.Knowledge of: Modern office methods and procedures in an accounting or record keeping environment.

 

BAbility to: Learn District rules/policies, and State laws, related to duties and apply them with good judgment in a variety of situations; Perform difficult clerical work and make arithmetical calculations with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency; Operate office machines such as a typewriter and calculator; Learn to operate a computer terminal; Apply office policies, rules and procedures efficiently;Work cooperatively with persons contacted in the course of work.

 

C.Education/Training/Experience: Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent and/or any combination of education and experience or training which meets or exceeds standards of knowledge, skills and abilities listed above. One year of general clerical experience, preferably in the area of Attendance Accounting.

 

D.Licenses/Certificates: Not applicable.

 

VI.Specific Qualifications Must pass District clerical test.
