Definition

Under general supervision, install, repair, maintain and design a wide variety of electronic
equipment; and to do related work consistent with the job description.

Examples of Duties

Responsible for: interpreting, coordinating and carrying out the duties of maintaining the
variety of electronic equipment in the school district; making regular contacts with
instructional personnel, students and administrators on the proper handling and
safeguarding of a variety of expensive and complex electronic equipment; making regular
contact with outside agencies and representatives on purchasing electronic parts and
equipment; keeping a stock inventory; maintain and enter data through the use of computer
terminals.

Employment Standards

A.

Knowledge of:

Methods and procedures involved in trouble shooting, installing and
repairing electronic equipment;

Occupational hazards and safety precautions.

B.

Ability to:

Design, install, maintain and repair various types of (M.A.T.V.)
Master Antenna Television Systems, Public Address Systems, television
receivers and monitors; (C.C.T.V.) Closed-Circuit Television Systems; and a wide variety of
public address, inter-communication systems, tape recorders, A.M.-F.M. radios,
phonographs, various types of listening post, and miscellaneous types of electronic
equipment;

Learn to use computer terminal;

Show and give demonstrations to instructional personnel on operation of
electronic equipment;

Keep records and conduct inspections;
Operate electronic testing and measuring devices;

Relate to students in a warm and caring manner;

Quote prices and communicate with vendors regarding needs and back
orders regarding maintenance of equipment;

Meet the public tactfully and courteously and establish and maintain

cooperative and effective working relationships.

C.

Education/Training/Experience:

Completion of 12th grade or equivalent and four years experience in
electronic maintenance and repair, or any combination of education, experience and training
which meets or exceeds the standards of knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.

D.

Licenses/Certificates:

Valid California Driver's License.

VI.

Specific Qualifications

Must have passed required promotional test requirements.
