Under general supervision, to do skilled work in installing and replacing glass in school buildings; and to do related work as required.
III. Examples of Duties
Remove broken glass and putty from windows, transoms, doors, and skylights; cuts to size and installs new glass; when required, works from ladders and scaffolds to reach high spots; mixes and applies putty and installs metal settings on wood moldings to make new glass secure and watertight; may mix, match, and apply paint to complete a job; may perform other glass works such as cutting and installing plate glass for desk and table tops; estimates necessary materials; maintains equipment used in work.

V.Employment Standards
A. Knowledge of: Methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in measuring, cutting, setting, and installing various kinds of glass; The proper use of putty and molding as applied to wood and metal.
B.Ability to: Measure, cut, and install glass using the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment of the glazing trade; Erect and work from ladders and scaffolding; Work from plans and specifications;Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; Maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
C.Education/Training/Experience:Completion of 12th grade and one year of experience as a journeyman glazier.
D. Licenses/Certificates: Appropriate valid California Driver's License.
